Our coffees are chosen only from the very best coffees grown in the volcanic mountain regions of Southern Mexico. Mexican altura (high) coffee is grown in Southern Mexico... over 1000 meters altitude, since the end of the eighteenth century. Grown on the verdant mountain sides of the high Sierras in the Southern States of Oaxaca and Chiapas. These beans, (altura, meaning high grown, literally) yield a fragrant cup of coffee, with great earth nutlike flavor, which has a tart light acidity.

Of course, the brew is in the roast and makes for a mild satisfying cup of coffee. Mexico altura is high grown with sea breezes, and some is shade grown as well, making it a full body self-satisfying delightful brew. Keep in mind, coffee is the leading export crop of Mexico. Mexico ranks third in the world of arabic-altura beans. The quality can vary. This is why Evie's Simply Coffee uses only premium beans for a guaranteed of a superior roasted bean. Some of the best come from small farms high in the Sierra Madre del Sur de Oaxaca. Other smalls farms with outstanding beans are in Chiapas, Veracruz, and Nayarit.
